Anyway the muse put his foot down and decided that I needed to write Doctor Who, so here is my first ever DW FanFic. Enjoy. Guess I should look at it as that I am branching out, humm.

It hadn’t been three minutes since she had hung up the phone, not wanting to spend eight hours on a cramped train she turned him down again. At the moment she didn’t care how spectacular the tour was, how many diamonds, or even for a sapphire waterfall. She just wanted to sit here and relax by the pool. So why was he walking through the door now.
“Oi! do you not know how to take no for an answer?” she asked a little put out but mostly kidding, the look in his eyes made her next line die on her lips.
“Huh, oh no I did take the tour.”
“But I thought it was….”
He didn’t have a lot of time so he cut her off.
“There is something you need to know.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I took a short hop to here, and I don’t have much time.”
“From over at the tour platform?” she asked.
“No, from the future.”
“And I’m suppose to take your word for that?” she asked smiling, still thinking that this was some kind of ruse he was trying to pull over on her.
“Well yes, you are.” He needed to cut to the chase or he would still be here when the him from the past returned.
“Yeah, and like you have never tried to pull…”
He didn’t have time for this. Before she could finish her sentence he grabbed her hand, pulled her up from the chair and lead her out the door and down the hall. She didn’t resist, which confirmed one thing; she trusted him.
When they reached their destination Donna gasped in surprise. Side by side were two of them, identical in every way. She looked at one TARDIS then the next, finally looking back at him.
“So, from the future? Where am I then?” she asked.
“At home, I don’t have much time and there is something I want you to know.”
“What do you mean you don’t have much time?” Donna knew about his ability to regenerate, he had explained it to her once, not wanting to go again through what happen with Rose when he had to regenerate the last time. Suddenly it all clicked in her mind,
“Your dying.” She stated. “If that happens how will…”
He cut her off; he couldn’t explain that she wasn’t traveling with him anymore. He hadn’t lied to her; she was at home, just not in the way she was thinking.
He wanted her to know how he felt even though she would only remember in her sub-conscience.
He turned her so she was standing in front of him and when she looked up at him he said.
“One thing above all else, never tell me I was here.” The intense look in his eyes along with his serous expression spoke volumes to Donna and she nodded in understanding.
“I’ll be regenerating into someone new soon but I wanted you to know something that I have never had the courage to say to you, but I have felt for quite a while. You’re my best friend and I will never leave you totally alone. I love you Donna Noble, you will always be spectacular.”
That didn’t sound quite right to him even; maybe the radiation was starting to affect his brain. He was confident that he got his point across though.
He pulled her into an embrace, holding her close to him one last time. He had told her the truth, she had been one of the best friends he could ever remember having.
Donna was taken aback by this admission. She was speechless and that said more than anything to him. He turned back toward the TARDIS before she finally found her voice again.
“Hey spaceman,”
He stopped and turned toward her when she closed the space between them. He was looking at the floor, trying to hide the growing pain. She took his chin and made him look her.
“I love you too, you are my best friend also and I have never doubted you would never leave me alone.”
Donna enveloped him in a hug. He hugged her a little tighter than he had before, dropping a kiss on her forehead before he pulled himself away and turned toward the TARDIS. When he reached for the handle he turned around again.
“When I get back from that tour, I’m going to need you more than I will ever admit.”
Just as he turned back a sharp pain hit him and he doubled over, Donna rushed to his side trying to help but knowing deep down that there was nothing that she could do for him.
“I’ve got one more place to make it to.” He mumbled more to himself than anything else.
Donna knew who he had left to see and said.
“You should have went and seen Rose first, I could have waited or would have been great if you never showed up at all.”
He looked at her, the tears running down her face told him that for all the words coming out of her mouth were not true.
“No. You are brilliant and you deserved to know that.”
He stepped into the TARDIS leaving her staring as it disappeared.
Donna walked back to the sun room, mulling over in her mind the whole time what he had just told her. She had known deep in her heart that he loved her; she had told him the truth. He had been the best friend she had ever had.
She sat down heavily at a table in the corner of the room, putting her head in her hands she cried. She was loosing him, but yet she wasn’t. He would be back in a few hours, she was going to hold him tighter the next time she saw him.
All of this brought the realization to her that life was short, even for a Time Lord.
She did know one thing for sure; she would never tell her Doctor what just happened because he asked her not too.

Standing in the TARDIS traveling through the time vortex, he thought back to the last time Donna knew who he was. He had to wipe her mind to keep her alive, but he left a little part of himself there. More than just a defense, she would never remember him or their travels, or just how brilliant she was.
In her dreams though she would have it all given back to her, but when she awoke she wouldn’t remember any of it - just always out of reach. He did keep his promise though, he never left her alone.
